ECOTICBAT
In Romania, there is an obligation to collect WEEE* and DBA** separately.
Each of us has an obligation to be environmentally friendly!
*waste of electrical and electronic equipment
**waste batteries and accumulators

Why collect WEEE separately?
The collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has a very important stake from a dual perspective:
- Environmental protection: WEEE contain extremely toxic substances for the environment, and in most cases, they still end up directly in nature, where volatile substances, liquids and powders are dispersed in the environment, thus affecting the land, soil, water and implicitly human health.
- Supporting the economy by recovering secondary raw materials: WEEE has one of the highest recycling rates, 80-90% of its components can be recycled and reused in the economy (iron, aluminum, copper, plastic and glass) for the production of new equipment.
If we recycle 1 million mobile phones we recover 250 kg of silver, 24 kg of gold, 9 kg of palladium and 9 tons of copper.
If we recycle 10,000 TVs, we recover 130 tons of glass, 30 tons of plastic, 25 tons of iron and 10 tons of copper.
Why collect DBA separately?
Waste batteries and accumulators (WBA) contain heavy metals and toxic substances and their disposal in household waste leads to soil and water contamination. Some batteries such as Li-Ion pose a danger to people’s safety.
By recycling batteries we recover metals that can be reused for our benefit. From 100 kilograms of recycled batteries we can recover 65 kg of raw materials that can be reused. Thus, natural resources are no longer used for each battery production

Where can you drop off?
- You can check the collection points on the ECOTIC map, selecting the category you want (waste of large electronics, small electronics, light bulbs and neon lights, waste batteries and accumulators): ecotic.ro/puncte-de-colectare/
- If you want to hand over large quantities (waste of electrical, electronic or bulky household appliances) you can make a pick-up order from home at phone number 021 9641 or at collecte@ecotic.ro

How can you collect separately?
ECOTIC provides companies with containers dedicated to the separate collection of electronics, light sources and used batteries, you just need to send an e-mail to container@ecotic.ro with your request. Also, if you have a space for the sale of electronic equipment of at least 400 square meters, you have the obligation to place them for public access (OG 5/2015).

DON'T FORGET!
The crossed out bin symbol indicates the separate collection of that item. It must not be thrown away with household waste and must be handed over to specialized collection points.
